What age is Young Disciple Sabbath School program geared towards?
The GROWING Sabbath School package includes resources to help you teach an interactive, Bible-based lesson for Juniors or Earliteens (ages 10–15). It’s perfect for teachers who want to make the Bible come alive and inspire young people to grow in their faith.
The FLOURISHING package includes everything in the GROWING package, plus many additional resources designed to support a hands-on, engaging experience for your Junior class (ages 10–12). The Teacher’s Guide contains everything you need to teach a dynamic lesson. It contains tips and techniques for teaching, a ready-to-use script, thought-provoking questions, and creative activities. It presents the lesson in a way that reinforces the main points and keeps students engaged and is designed to making teacher easier and more interactive.
What’s included in the Program Helps?
The Program Helps contains a program theme that correlates with the current quarter’s Teacher’s Guide and Bible lessons. Examples of themes are Birding Basics, a program that teaches students about birds and learn skills to help them identify them; and Codes of the Kingdom, a program containing fun Bible puzzlers for students to solve each week, while teaching them how to decode the symbols of Revelation. Each Program Helps includes weekly, fifteen-minute interactive programs, along with suggestions for decorations, an incentive device to encourage daily personal devotions, and ways to take your class to the next level.
How much preparation is required for using the teacher’s resources?
The Teacher’s Guide and Program Helps are designed to be easy to use with minimal preparation. Most materials needed are provided, and additional props needed are noted in each week’s prep section. We do encourage reviewing the guides beforehand to ensure a smooth teaching experience.
I have a very small Sabbath School class. Can the Sabbath School resources be used for a class with only a few students?
Yes—while the program is designed for 5 students and up, many smaller groups have made it work well! With a little creativity, the materials can be adapted to fit your class size and help your students stay engaged and growing.
